Listen to the Word
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith... (Hebrews 12:1-2)

God calls you to run the race of life with perseverance. Life is not the 100 meter dash, where a quick burst will get you through to the end. It is a marathon. Or perhaps it is more like the steeplechase, that long run with hurdles and obstacles all over the place. Living well requires stamina, staying with it over the long haul, getting up when you fall, continuing on even when it gets hard. You must endure. You must run with perseverance.
