Listen to the Word
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (Psalm 18:2)

The Bible portrays God as a rock, a fortress, a place of refuge. David, the author of Psalm 18, knew a thing or two about fortresses. He spent much of his early adulthood looking for safe places to hide while King Saul worked hard to exterminate him. David found God to be the ultimate shelter and shield. When you find yourself under attack and you are struggling to dodge all the darts that are coming your way, do what David did: run to God. Take refuge in him, and you will find strength and safety that are not attainable anywhere else.

Live the Word
What is the biggest source of fear and anxiety in your life right now? Spend a moment reflecting on how strong God is, and how the power of the thing you fear is insignificant by comparison.
