Listen to the Word
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100:4-5)
Our Scripture uses a couple of words to remind us that there is no expiration date on the praiseworthy traits of God: his love endures, and his faithfulness continues. God will never take a break from loving. He will never wake up in the morning and decide he doesn't feel like being faithful that day. In a world where people come and go, and where you find yourself at the mercy of the moods of others (as they are at the mercy of your moods), God is consistent and constant.
We praise him and thank him not only because he is loving, but because his love endures forever. We praise and thank him not only because he is faithful, but because his faithfulness continues through all generations. You can count on God, and you will always be able to count on him.
Live the Word
Reflect on some of the earliest positive memories you can recall. Thank God for the fact that his love has endured and his faithfulness has continued from then until now.
