Listen to the Word
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Today’s Scripture communicates an important idea: your body is not yours. God designed it - he mapped out your DNA and drew the blueprints for every cell. God built it - he assembled the skeleton, attached the muscles, wrapped it all in skin. God paid a high price for it - he purchased it with the death of his Son. And God calls it his home - if you are his child, your body is his house.

This week, you will have the opportunity to remember that all of your parts are actually his. You will be challenged to offer your eyes, hands, feet, and mouth to him. May God help us to honor him with our bodies.

Thank God for the gift of your physical body. Ask him to help you honor him with the way you use it this week.
