Listen to the Word
Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me. (Psalm 31:3)

How brave do you feel this week? We are going to explore some daring prayers together – some brief supplications that can be extremely hazardous to the status quo.

The psalmist suggests our first daring prayer: “Guide me.” Are you courageous enough to lift those two short words to God? Are you willing to lay down the right to determine your own destination and ask him to set the course for you instead? I’m not sure where you’ll wind up if you breathe that prayer, but I can assure you it won’t be boring. He might direct you to an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life. He might guide you on a journey that deepens your confidence in him. Will you go wherever he leads?

Live the Word
As often as possible today, pray the brief prayer, “Lord, guide me.”
