CURRENT EVENTS & IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

THANK YOU! Our student ministry held its annual Trivia Night Fundraiser on May 4, and we had a GREAT time! A HUGE thank you to Jack Wiley for hosting, all the parents and students for their hard work, and for the 8 teams who competed for the Trivia Night Trophy! If you missed the chance to give for our students’ summer activities, there’s still time! You can give online or by using the green offering envelopes.

HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS YEARBOOK: May 4 was our annual High School Senior Recognition service at FBCLS, and we had more requests for the printed yearbook than we had available. If you didn’t get one and would like to have it, please contact Christy Burns in the church office and we will get you a pdf or printed copy.
 
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: Registration is open for VBS which takes place June 1 – 4, 6-8 PM, for all kids entering kindergarten through those entering 6th grade. The theme this year is “MAGNIFIED: Discovering the bigness of God in the smallest of things!”

VBS DONATIONS: If you would like to donate supplies for our upcoming VBS, simply go to our Amazon Wishlist and pick out a needed item to purchase. Donations will need to be delivered to the church by May 18.

“SUMMER OF LOVE” SERVICE PROJECTS: 
This summer moves to a different beat — and love is taking the lead. “Summer of Love” is a groovy, church-wide adventure — fueled by worship, mission, and Jesus' love: the kind of love that shows up for others. Each Sunday, we’ll explore a different expression of that love: loving God, loving people, making disciples, helping one another, enjoying one another, and treating one another with grace.
But it’s not just about listening — it’s about living it out. We’re inviting every Community Group to spread love across Lee’s Summit and beyond. Serve lunch to teens at Pro Deo. Sort food at Harvesters. Pack care kits for families at Ronald McDonald House. Host a block party. Clean up a park. Or create your own way to show up with love. Connect with your Community Group leader to decide how your group will get involved and watch for more ways to spread the love as an individual or family.
At FBCLS, we believe love leads to action. So let’s make this summer more than sunshine and sandals. Let’s make it a summer of love.
