Listen to the Word

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

God has good plans for you, and he wants you to seek Him. But the seeking he desires is not a casual, half-hearted thing. He wants you to go after him with all you’ve got.

Most people are interested in God. Few people are passionate about God, yearning to know Him. Perhaps you are seeking God with part of your heart - you want God AND you want to be successful, or popular, or married. God doesn’t promise that you will find him that way. But he guarantees that you will find him if you desire him more than anything else, seeking him with all your heart.

What other things are you seeking that tend to slow down your pursuit of God? Turn those things over to him and ask him to help you seek him with all your heart.
