Listen to the Word
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (1 John 4:7-8 NAS)

Your primary responsibility as a child of God is to love. It is mandatory. It is essential. Jesus said the most important thing is to love God and love your neighbor. Paul said love is the fulfillment of the law. John said a lack of love is evidence of a lack of relationship with God. Love is THE indicator of spiritual health.

Love is the very essence of God. It is central to his character. He is love. And he wants his kids to resemble him. He wants agape love to be at the core of who we are.

Live the Word
God is love. What are you? If you had to use one word to describe your fundamental essence, what would it be? Ask God to transform you so that the answer to that question would be “love.”
