Listen to the Word
Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. (Deuteronomy 4:39)

God is the only God. He is the High King of heaven. He is Lord of every square inch of the earth. He has no legitimate competition - there is no one even remotely like him. He is the only overwhelming God of everything.

These things are true of God every day. But the Scripture says you need to acknowledge them and take them to heart THIS DAY. Every day life bombards you with competing gods clamoring for your attention, and every day you are force-fed the myth that you are god and it is all about you. So every day you must intentionally remind yourself who is indeed on the throne. The Lord is God, and there is no other!

Live the Word
Be alert today to times when things other than God start to claim center stage in your life. Every time they do, remind yourself that only God is God.
