Listen to the Word
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (1 John 4:7-8 NAS)

You are loved by God.

Look at what John calls you. Soak for a while in the first word of our Scripture. “Beloved.” That word defines you above all others. It is the most important thing about you. You are God’s beloved! If someone asks you who you are, you might tell them your name. You might mention your job, or your family connections. But the basic answer is this: you are God’s beloved! You are loved by God.

Live the Word
Thank God for loving you perfectly, and ask him to help you to draw joy, strength, and courage from the knowledge that you are his beloved.
