Listen to the Word

“Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep…”  (Psalm 36:5-6)

David, the author of Psalm 36, is blown away by how big God is. As he celebrates God’s amazing attributes, he compares those attributes to the biggest things he can think of: love and faithfulness as expansive as the starry sky, righteousness as big and solid as a mountain, justice as bottomless as the ocean.

We will spend the week reflecting on the four characteristics of God mentioned in our Scripture – four traits of his that are bigger than we can fathom. God doesn’t just have a handful of love – he’s got so much that it reaches to Saturn and keeps going. And it is not enough merely to say that he is faithful - his faithfulness is so mindbogglingly huge that it stretches past the most distant star. His righteousness is not just some nice trait for us to admire – it is a reality as massive as Everest. His justice is big enough for whales to swim in. We have a massive God!

Live the Word

Ask God to amaze you today with how big he is, and with how limitless are all of his perfect attributes.
