Listen to the Word
May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:26)

God is a giver, and he wants to give you the gift of peace.

Today’s verse is part of the blessing the Old Testament priests were instructed to speak over God’s people. It is not an accident that the blessing makes a connection between our peace and the orientation of God’s face. We can be at peace because we know that God’s face is turned toward us - he is constantly watching out for us. If we believe God has turned away from us and is distracted by other things, then anxiety is the inevitable result. If we were on our own to face the challenges of life, peace would be impossible. But we aren’t! God’s loving eye is on us, and he wants to give us peace.

Live the Word
Each time you feel anxiety creep up on you today, remind yourself that God is watching over you, and ask him to give you peace.
