Listen to the Word
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

Part of what makes the promise of God’s presence in Psalm 23:4 so amazing is how personal it is. God doesn’t just say he will be with humanity generally. He says he will be with you individually. He is not just everywhere - he is in the room with you right now. The whole psalm is full of personal assurances like that. The Lord is not just THE shepherd - He is MY shepherd.

As big as God is, he still delights to know you personally. And he promises to go with you through every dark valley you face. You don’t have to be afraid. You are not alone. God is with you.

Live the Word
Read Psalm 23 aloud, emphasizing the personal pronouns. Thank God for being willing to do everything described in the Psalm for you.
