Listen to the Word

“Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.”  (1 Peter 4:9)

Hospitality is love that tastes like a home-cooked meal. It is love that feels like a comfortable chair and a cold glass of iced tea (sweet, of course). It is making your stuff available for the good of someone else - your house, or your food, or your car, or your money.

Hospitality is also the gift of making someone else feel involved and important. It is the blessing of acceptance. It is saying to someone, “You have a place. You are welcome here. I am interested in you. You matter.”

God wants you to offer hospitality, without grumbling, to your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Live the Word

The next time you are with a group of people, make it your responsibility to ensure that everyone feels welcomed and valued.
