Listen to the Word
Moses said to the LORD, “O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” The LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” (Exodus 4:10-12)

Moses whined, “Lord, this task of challenging Pharaoh and relocating a million slaves sounds like it will require a great deal of public speaking, and that really isn’t my gift.” God replied, “Remind me, Moses - who was it that made your mouth? I will help you speak!”

Time and again, Moses said, “Lord, I am not able to do this.” And time and again, God said, “You’re right. But I AM!” You may feel like you lack the talent for the task God has placed before you. But your ability is irrelevant! God’s infinite strength more than makes up for your weakness. It is God’s responsibility to empower, and your responsibility to obey.

Live the Word
What task has God placed before you that you feel inadequate to complete? Ask God to help you tackle that task, confident that the key is not your ability but his.
