Listen to the Word

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”   (Psalm 46:10)

God is so convinced that being still is critical for our well being that he made it part of his original top ten list. In the Ten Commandments, he placed the call for a weekly day off right up there with instructions not to murder or worship idols. He orders us to remember the Sabbath - to establish a healthy rhythm in life that interrupts work with regular time to rest and recharge. Your car won’t run forever without stops for refueling - and neither will you. You must set aside regular time to be still and know that God is God.

Live the Word

The weekend is coming - make arrangements to spend some time doing something that helps you relax and recharge. Ask God to use that time to remind you that he is God.
