Listen to the Word

“Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.” (Acts 5:42)

Notice what the early followers of Jesus were proclaiming everyday and everywhere: “the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.” Earlier in the chapter, in verse 31, they elaborate that Jesus is “Prince and Savior.”

Jesus is Messiah – he is God’s chosen means to make us right, and make the world right. Jesus is Prince – he is the one who reigns over all. And Jesus is Savior – he is the one who rescues us.

The good news is the news of who Jesus is. That message changes everything. May we follow the example of the early Christians and proclaim that message at all times and in all places.
