Listen to the Word

“Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.” (Acts 5:42)

The early followers of Jesus lived and proclaimed their faith “from house to house.” How could we follow that example today? Think for a moment about your neighbors. Who lives on your hallway or your street? Who do you see walking their dog past your place? Who do you meet at the mailbox?

What are some ways you could show the love of Christ to those specific neighbors? It might start with making an effort to get to know them. Maybe it means delivering a plate of brownies along with an invitation to church. Perhaps it involves raking some leaves.

You are Christ’s ambassador to your neighbors. How can you live out that calling in the days ahead?

Choose one specific neighbor, and make a plan to do one specific thing as a step toward showing Christ’s love to that neighbor.
