Listen to the Word
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Romans 8:35,37)

Our Scripture gives us a list of unpleasant possibilities - trouble, hardship, persecution, and so on. And then it says, "IN all these things we are more than conquerors."

We would prefer to conquer AWAY FROM hardship and hurt, not IN it. We'd like to keep those ugly outcomes a few counties away from us. But the Scripture says that it is in the midst of our pain that we conquer. It is as we go through the storms of life and hold on to the God who is holding on to us that we truly become champions.

The world will do its worst, but that won't separate us from God's love.

Live the Word
Pray for a friend who is experiencing painful hardship. Pray that God will help them to conquer in the midst of that difficulty, and that they will know that Christ's love will not let go of them.
