Listen to the Word

“Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.” (Acts 5:42)

Living for Jesus is an ALL THE TIME thing. Our Scripture tells us that the early Christians lived and declared their faith “day after day” and that “they never stopped.”

Some folks act like Sunday morning is the time to tune in to God, but it is ok to ignore him for the rest of the week. You are reading this devotion on a Wednesday, so I’m guessing you know better than that. You realize that Jesus matters seven days a week. We sometimes call Sunday “the Lord’s day,” which is probably well-intentioned, but which implies that the other six days aren’t his.

We can learn from the early Christians that living for Jesus is an all the time thing.

Live the Word

Make a game of the next few hours, seeing how often you can call God to mind as you go about your day.
