Listen to the Word
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9)

The second astonishing announcement about our identity in Christ is that we are a royal priesthood.

Perhaps you feel unimportant or useless. But God says you have an important purpose. You are a priest. As a priest, you have access to God. What a radical concept! You don’t have to go through a preacher or some dead saint to get to him. He gives you his direct line. As a priest, you also have a job to do. God wants you to work for him, serving others in his name. And you are not just any priest - God sees you as his royal priest.
