Listen to the Word
People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. (1 Timothy 6:9-10)

No matter how much money you have, you probably think you’d like to have just a little bit more. When you get that little bit more, you will decide you need a little more than that. You won’t be satisfied. And if you long for wealth, if you keep running down More Street, you will be extremely disappointed with where you wind up. Look at some of the words our Scripture uses to describe your destination: ruin, destruction, and many griefs.

There is no exaggeration in these words. In the United States each year, more people file for bankruptcy than graduate from college. We charge over a trillion dollars per year on credit cards. Our desire for more is destroying us.

Live the Word
Spend a moment praying about your financial situation. Ask God to provide what you need, and ask him to help you handle finances his way.
