Listen to the Word
Yet give attention to your servant’s prayer and his plea for mercy, LORD my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day. (1 Kings 8:28)

Solomon, who prayed the prayer recorded in today’s Scripture, knew that the best day to pray is THIS DAY. We have good intentions to pray someday. One of these days, we hope to be prayer warriors, enjoying the fruit of a thriving prayer life. But we are a little busy today. We know prayer is important, but it doesn’t seem quite as urgent as the other items screaming at us from our to-do lists. So we wait just one more day. And someday never comes.

The only way to live a life of prayer is to live days of prayer. You must pray today.

Live the Word
Stop what you are doing and pray - right now. Spend at least the next five minutes asking God for his help with the challenges you face today.
