Listen to the Word
“But what about you?” Jesus asked. “Who do you say I am?” (Matthew 16:15)
In today’s Scripture, Jesus asks you the most important question you will ever answer. Who do you say he is? Your response to that query sets your course in life. It will determine whether you live with fear or with courage, whether you live selfishly or selflessly. Who do you believe Jesus is? Is he a myth? A figure from the dusty pages of history? A slogan on the bumper of your car? Is he your buddy? Your conscience? Your co-pilot? Who do you say he is?
We will spend the next two weeks exploring who Jesus says he is. We will investigate nine different “I am” sayings of Jesus - statements he made that reveal his identity. We will see that Jesus is even bigger than we imagined.
Live the Word
Ask Jesus to enlarge your view of him in the days ahead. Ask him to help you agree with his answers to the question of who he is.
