Listen to the Word

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

Jesus’ statement in John 14:6 contains some of the most exclusive sounding words he ever spoke. Jesus doesn’t claim to be one possible way to God among many. He says he is THE way - the only way. Every other road is a dead end. Jesus doesn’t claim to be one truth available on some relativistic buffet. He says he is THE truth. Every worldview that has something other than him at the center is a lie. Jesus doesn’t claim to be one option for experiencing real life. He says he is THE life. If you try to live apart from him, you may have a pulse, but you won’t be fully alive. Jesus is the way and the truth and the life.
