Listen to the Word

“Woman,” he said, “why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” (John 20:15-16a)

We will spend the week extending our celebration of Easter, reflecting on some eyewitness accounts of the resurrection of Jesus. Mary Magdalene was one of the first to see the risen Lord. She didn’t even recognize him at first - she mistook him for a member of the cemetery landscaping crew. But Jesus recognized her. He called her by name.

Did you know that Jesus knows your name? At best, there are probably a few hundred people in the world that you could call by name. But Jesus sees you among the billions of faces on the planet, and he knows exactly who you are. He calls you by name.

Live the Word

Tell Jesus thanks for knowing you and for rising from the dead for you.
