Listen to the Word
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Ephesians 4:2)
This week we will soak in some Scriptures that call us to be patient. It may not be pleasant, because patience does not come naturally for us. In fact, our whole lives are structured around impatience - we eat fast food, drive in the fast lane, and stay wired for instant communication. We want what we want, and we want it yesterday.
God sees us rushing around, skimming life as we live in a constant hurry, and he urges us to be patient. He sees us losing our temper with the people around us when they don’t meet our expectations, and he urges us to be patient. Hear the words in the middle of Ephesians 4:2 as God’s personal instruction to you: “Be patient!”
Live the Word
Pray a dangerous prayer today - ask God to help you grow in patience this week.
