Listen to the Word
But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” And God said, “I will be with you.” (Exodus 3:11-12)

When God called Moses to lead his people to freedom, Moses asked a logical question: Who am I? “Why me, God? I’m an elderly ex-con. I’ve spent the last 40 years tending sheep, and that isn’t exactly the best way to develop leadership and communication skills.” You can probably relate. You feel unqualified for the task God is calling you to do. You are damaged goods. You ask God, “Who am I?”

Notice God’s answer to that question: “I will be with you.” What matters is not who WE are, but who HE is. You may feel like you are nobody special, but that is irrelevant, because God promises to be with you!

Live the Word
Listen through the day for God to speak the words to you that he spoke to Moses: “I will be with you.”
