Listen to the Word

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."  (Romans 8:35,37)

"Trouble or hardship" - have you got any of those? Chronic pain, or a messy marriage, or a kid going off the deep end? "Persecution" - perhaps you've faced a bit of that because of you carried your Bible to school, or because you decided to wait until marriage, or because you passed on the lucrative business deal that would have compromised your integrity. "Famine or nakedness" - most of us are blessed not to have to deal with those issues to that extreme, but maybe you do know what it is like to have more month than money. "Danger or sword" - perhaps you've been attacked or abused.

Can any of these things ultimately get the best of you? Can any of them separate you from the love of Christ? Our Scripture answers with a resounding "NO!" Even in all these things, we overwhelmingly conquer through Christ.
