Listen to the Word

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."  (Romans 8:35,37)

Our Scripture makes a remarkable promise that we can triumph over any challenge that comes our way. But our ability to overcome obstacles does not come from our own skill, smarts, or spirituality. "We are more than conquerors through him who loved us." We are strong with Christ's strength.

When my daughter was three years old, she once insisted on helping me carry a heavy suitcase upstairs. Once we made it to the top, she said, "I did it!" She did it, but she had a little assistance! Likewise, we stand strong against the difficulties that assail us because we stand in the limitless strength of Jesus. We can handle anything because Jesus can handle anything, and he is with us.
