Listen to the Word

“…on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”  (Matthew 16:18)

Jesus indicates that the future of his church is not up for grabs. He says, “I WILL build my church.” Not that he might build it. His church is inevitable, invincible, unstoppable. As part of his church, we are on the front lines of a cosmic war – the ultimate showdown of good versus evil. But it is not a fair fight. The outcome is already decided. The moment Jesus left heaven to enter our world, the end result was determined. Through his flawless life, his sacrificial death, and his triumphant resurrection, he has guaranteed the victory of his church. Hell doesn’t stand a chance in…. well, you know. Jesus will build his church!
