Listen to the Word

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.   (Matthew 17:20)

Relocating a mountain is probably not a task you feel qualified to tackle. It isn’t really a do-it-yourself kind of job. Even if somebody gives you a really big shovel, that mountain is not going anywhere. The undertaking is simply too much for you.

God is the only one who can move mountains. That’s why Jesus tells us that if we want to be a part of moving some mountains, we don’t need smarts or muscles or even dump trucks – we need faith. Faith is what ties us to the One who is able to do that kind of heavy lifting.

If you have a mountain-sized challenge before you, don’t be silly enough to try to move it on your own. The only way to handle a difficulty like yours is to trust God enough to do it in partnership with him. Faith is the key.

Each time you feel anxiety about a problem that you face today, let that worry be a reminder to pray. Ask God to help you deal with that challenge with him.
