Listen to the Word
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. (Psalm 96:3)

When you obey the command in Psalm 96:3, it obviously benefits those who hear. People who have never known how great God is, or people who once knew but have forgotten, have a chance to hear about his glory and his marvelous deeds. Their lives can be changed by your words.

You also benefit when you obey the command. The more you declare his glory, the more clearly you see it. The more you point out his marvelous deeds, the more able to notice those deeds you become. Bragging on God leads to more passionately believing in God.

God gives you this command because others need to hear what you can tell them. He also gives the command because you need to do the telling. Declare his glory – for his sake, for their sake, and for your sake.

Live the Word
Reflect for a moment about the reasons you hesitate to tell others about him. Is it because you are afraid of their reaction? Is it because you aren’t confident in your belief? Is it something else? Confess the source of your hesitation to God, and ask him to strengthen you.
