Listen to the Word

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  (Romans 8:28)

This week’s Scripture is not a part-time promise. It assures us that God is at work for our good “in all things.” This is an all the time, every day, no matter what, take it to the bank guarantee. When you are having the best day of your life, God is at work for your good. When the wheels are coming off of your life, God is at work for your good. When your day is full of a series of little brushfires you are battling, God is at work for your good. When you receive devastating news, God is at work for your good. When it feels like everyone has abandoned you, God is at work for your good. When you are on the spiritual mountaintop, God is at work for your good. When you aren’t sure he’s really there, God is at work for your good.

Ask God to reassure you that he is at work in your life for good in this very moment.
