Listen to the Word

Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.  (Ephesians 4:13)

Are you like me? Spiritually speaking, I’m not there yet. I have a lot of growing to do. Sometimes I am faithful, and sometimes I am quick to give up. I am alternately kind and selfish. I can be fearless, but I can also be downright wimpy. It is frustrating. But God is not finished with me yet, and he’s not finished with you. We are not yet the people God had in mind when he created us. We are tiny saplings, but he is growing us into mighty oaks. He is working to make us people with the character of his Son shining through us. He is transforming us so that more and more, the things that are true of him will also be true of us. He is working to make us mature – to make us like Christ.

Live the Word

Commit Ephesians 4:13 to memory. Ask God to remind you of it any time you start to forget his big plan to help you grow to be like Jesus.
