Listen to the Word

Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.  (Ephesians 4:13)

We tend to view spiritual maturity as optional, and the natural result of that belief is visible everywhere. We remain spiritually immature. We don’t know much more about who God is, how he works, and what he wants than we did the day we met him – and that is a problem. We remain immature in our attitudes. When we met God, we were mean, jealous, ungrateful, unloving, and selfish. And we still are – and that is a problem. If you have been a Christian for years and your character is basically unchanged, something is not right.

God doesn’t want you to be satisfied with staying where you are spiritually. He wants you to grow big and strong in the faith. God’s goal for you is spiritual maturity.

Live the Word

Spend a moment allowing God to examine you. Ask him to point out areas of your character that he wants to change.
