Listen to the Word

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.   (Matthew 17:20)

What’s the mountain in your way right now? Maybe it is a mountain of debt, or a pile of responsibilities you can’t see the top of. Perhaps it is an illness that won’t heal or a cloud of depression that won’t lift or a temptation that won’t leave you alone. Maybe it’s more than one thing – you might have a whole mountain range blocking your path.

Don’t face that mountain alone. Trust God enough to go after it with him. You don’t even have to trust him that much – just a mustard-seed amount of faith will do nicely. Just enough faith that you realize that “you and God versus the mountain” gives you much better odds than “you alone versus the mountain.” And get ready to see a mountain move.
