Listen to the Word
“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:30-31)
Our Scripture includes some words that may describe somebody you know: “tired and weary.” Does that phrase ring any bells? Life can wear us out. We become weary because of the pace of life – sometimes it seems like you wake up, and then you run run run run all day long, and then you have a few hours of fitful sleep, and then you repeat. We also become weary because of the problems of life – a parent that needs your care, or a child that needs your help, or a car that needs repair, or a job that is beating you to death, or a job that went away. It all leaves you in desperate need of a break.
God has some good news for you this week: He wants to renew your strength.
Live the Word
Repeat the central phrase of our Scripture enough times that it gets stuck in your head for the day: “Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.”
